Available on Chrome, Firefox, Opera, and/or Brave.

Are you a crypto-aficionado, or a noob looking to learn more about the crypto world, or maybe looking to acquire non-fungible tokens (NFTs)? Then this list is for you! The use of extensions can facilitate your daily routines: making crypto transactions, checking market prices, using new DeFi projects, or learning more about NFTs.

Without further ado … here are some of the most useful web extensions out there!

1. Metamask

If you are not new to the crypto world you’re probably already using this extension. Metamask is the most popular crypto extension, with over 3 million users! They’ve come a long way and the features developed are just great. Essentially, it’s your key to enter the world of Dapps!

Metamask allows users to interact with decentralized applications on their browser, without running a full Ethereum node. It therefore removes a considerable amount of friction between users and the Dapp ecosystem. It’s a must-have. For a good beginner’s guide, check this article by Decrypt.

Also available on Firefox and Brave.

2. Unstoppable Extension

The Unstoppable browser extension is another cool tool that helps in making the whole decentralized web work in the same way as the regular web. With this one, you can view any .crypto and .zil websites just like on a chrome browser.

With the IPFS node inside the browser, you will be able to make websites more decentralized as you navigate them. You can quickly store and share websites to a decentralized network that is not controlled by any entity.

In layman’s terms: with the extension you can enter the .crypto addresses into your current browser just as you would do with any other domain name. This is a great tool to improve your navigation on the decentralized web!

Also available on Firefox

3. Nifty Scanner

If you are an NFT collector, a crypto enthusiast interested in learning more about NFTs, or an NFT creator that wants to understand what the top projects are currently doing with their NFTs, this extension is for you.

Some NFT projects use centralised methods to store the NFT they create. This can lead to ownership issues. In worst-case scenarios, NFTs become placeholders: collectors are left with a broken link when trying to access their digital artwork.

Nifty Scanner provides a solution to these issues, as it allows collectors to inspect the technology behind NFTs, before acquiring them on OpenSea. The extension verifies if an NFT’s assets (the media and metadata) are safely stored on the blockchain. It also inspects if an NFT’s smart contract has been verified on Etherscan.

The location of this data ultimately makes the difference between a digital artwork lasting for generations and a broken link… with no NFT to be found.

Also available on Firefox, Opera, and Brave.

4. Coinstats

This extension is a nice tool to keep track of your crypto investments. Coinstats is a cryptocurrency portfolio tracker app which provides essential market data. It also gives its users the ability to track all their exchanges and investments.

As you must be aware, cryptocurrencies are very volatile assets. As such, it is very important to keep an eye on market changes: coinstats is a good extension to do that. Users can choose their local currency and synchronize their wallets from different exchanges automatically to the extension. If you use different exchanges (Binance, Coinbase, etc.) and need to add the transactions manually, this extension will save you a lot of time!

Also available on Firefox.

5. Crypto Tab

This last extension is beautiful in its simplicity: open a new tab and you will get the real-time price of Bitcoin! If you are in crypto, you probably check this metric at least once a day, now you can do so every time you navigate your browser!
