The Sneaker Dilemma

“What do you mean I can’t wear that in here?”

Imagine you go to the Nike store and buy an amazing limited edition pair of Air Jordan sneakers. Super exciting, right? You’re so happy with your new purchase, you want the world to see how good you look.

So you leave the Nike store wearing your new Air Jordan, and you walk down the road. Everyone’s staring. You’re looking great!

Then you arrive in front of the Adidas store. You look in the window. There’s a new collectors edition hoodie with your favourite NFT project. You simply need to have it! So you try to walk into the store, and suddenly you’re stopped by security. They tell you:

“You can’t come in here wearing those sneakers”.

“WHAT!?!?!” You shout back furiously! “Why the hell not?!?!”

“Your Nike Air Jordans aren’t compatible in the Adidas environment!”

This is the problem with the many metaverses today. If you buy a wearable or a collectible in one environment, it doesn’t work in the other. Imagine a world where you couldn’t wear your favourite sneakers or your favourite hoodie. No one wants to live in that world, do they?

Building in Silos

Here at Metalinq, we’re a group of collectors, developers, and degens (some of us are all three). It’s not just that we can see the issues of the current metaverse landscape, it’s that we feel the current pain points every day.

Why should users have to choose which wearables they want to wear in each metaverse?

By building walled gardens, each metaverse environment restricts users and creators. Brands that are looking to interact with their audience shouldn’t have to choose, and consumers should be free to wear what they want, where they want to.

It’s time for digital wearables, in-game assets, and digital assets to seamlessly work from one digital world to the next.

How does it work?

Metalinq has created a layer 3 protocol, built to be used by Metaverses, P2E games, and NFT projects. The protocol integrates NFT standards from multiple blockchains (both Layer 1 and Layer 2).

To begin, projects will be able to create Metaverse NFT wearables. These wearables will be interoperable across multiple metaverses from the very beginning. For the first time, buying a wearable NFT won’t restrict you to just 1 metaverse.

We are pioneering a new standard for interoperable, cross-platform NFTs specific to the multiverse! More details will be announced soon…

We’re starting by integrating with some of the leading crypto metaverses like Decentraland, Voxels (formally CryptoVoxels), and Somnium Space. We will continue to add more metaverse environments to the Metalinq protocol.

Picture the Multiverse

Interoperable metaverses and the creation of a multiverse is not a sci-fi utopia. Metalinq’s Layer 3 protocol makes it possible. Future NFT projects could have the ability to enter ALL the different metaverses at the same time. And finally, users will no longer be forced to choose.

The Multiverse is just one protocol away… 💫
