A multilingual Validator on Indorse!

A big thanks to our Validators for their invaluable feedback and professionalism! In this third post, we have the pleasure to chat with developer Liam Williams!

Becoming a Validator

A Validator on the Indorse platform is an expert programmer in at least one of the programming languages supported by Indorse: Python, JavaScript, Java, PHP, Ruby and/or C#.

To become a Validator, you will have to:
a. Have your coding skill validated at expert level on Indorse.
b. Pass a one-to-one interview with us!

Here’s an interesting story of an expert programmer that joined our community of Validators!

Evaluating Programming Skills

When a programmer wants to have his/her skills assessed, a panel of 10 randomly chosen Validators will assess and validate his/her code (GitHub repo, Bitbucket, etc.).

Validators can either indorse/validate or flag/reject his/her claim of possessing the specific coding skill in question. Feel free to try it out and share your feedback!

Liam is a senior developer working at Sky, a leading media and telecommunications company that was recently acquired by Comcast. In 2017, he also joined Traffic Parrot as a technical co-founder.

He’s an expert at developing high-quality software solutions that leverage appropriate automation techniques. Liam obtained an MSc in Mathematics and Computer Science from the prestigious Imperial College London in 2012. On the Indorse platform, he’s a Validator in Java, JS, Python and C#!

What motivated you to become a Validator on Indorse?

I stumbled across Indorse when looking at various ICOs and airdrops. It seemed like a good idea, and I felt that I could add value to the community of Validators.

What has your experience as a Validator brought to you?

I learned that there is a lot of variation in how people categorise claims and their level of coding proficiency. Because Validators are rewarded for their contributions, I have gained some ETH in exchange for voting on claims and assessing programmers’ codes.

What are the best coding ideas and/or solutions (i.e. claims) that you have approved?

Most of the solutions presented are learning exercises and sample applications on GitHub.

How do you envision Indorse bridging the gaps between HR and developers?

I see Indorse as a way for employers gaining additional confidence that a candidate is up to standard by relying on the Validators for the first round of screening.

Feel free to share more experiences with us!

The Indorse team has been responsive to feedback and bug reports. It is a pleasure to help shape the future direction of the product!

Thank you Liam for this insightful dialogue. Glad to have you as a Validator on Indorse!
