Preparing for the launch, MAS Fintech awards and the European Parliament…

The last two weeks have been all about the launch, with some nice extras- the MAS Fintech Awards and being listed in a special circular by the European Parliament! (‘MAS’: Montetary Authority of Singapore, the financial regulatory body and central bank of Singapore)

As you may know, Indorse was born from our experiences in the digital diploma space, with another project called Attores.

Attores was nominated for the MAS Fintech Awards for the second year running! We were among the top 30 innovative companies in the world being nominated. We didn’t take home the prize, but are still incredibly honored to have been chosen.

This week, Ngee Ann Polytechnic issued 567 digital diplomas on the blockchain using the Attores ‘Open Certificates’ platform to their students. Hence, Attores becomes one of the very few companies in the world to have a blockchain system in production. Attores will be one of the trusted sources of skills that will feed into the Indorse network.

Many people a from all over the world were visiting Singapore for the Fintech Festival. Vitalik gave a talk at the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS), and the team from Consensys spoke at the Ethereum Singapore meetup- of which Indorse was a co-organizer. It was great to meet up with the team. It’s always a pleasure to to chat with and learn from brilliant people in the space such as Joseph Lubin.

One more piece of good news, both Attores and Indorse were mentioned in a list of innovative companies working on Blockchain in a report created by European Commission for policy makers. You can find the link here — http://publications.jrc.ec.europa.eu/repository/bitstream/JRC108255/jrc108255_blockchain_in_education(1).pdf

This is quite significant, since we received recognition across Singapore and Europe in the same week.

Product side

The entire team has been rallying behind our vision of Indorse and working really hard, late into the night, over the weekends, to make sure that we ship on time.

Done

  • Finished BigchainDB implementation for most of the endpoints
  • Done with the first draft of the CV Visualizer
  • Setting up of a set of federated clusters of BigchainDB, one for the staging environment and one for the production environment
  • Implementation of the LinkedIn CV parse. This will enable people to upload their profile PDF from LinkedIn directly on Indorse. Obviously, the parsing is not going to be fully accurate, therefore we are also going to (in the next two weeks)give the users an option of validating the inputs

Doing

  • Airbitz integration
  • Confidence score for an individual profile, based on attaching multiple social profiles to an account. This will help in the prevention of Sybil attacks to a certain extent
  • Fleshing out the CV Visualizer and making it responsive across devices

It is important to note that although our aim is complete decentralization, it is a gradual process and is going to take some time to reach. As of now, we have a federated cluster of BigchainDB nodes, which is maintained on our own AWS instances and the plan is to move it to a cluster maintained by multiple other companies too. At the same time, we are also keeping a redundant store of data in MongoDB.

Scaling up Indorseans

In the last week, we had one more developer join us. Haresh Gedia from London joined the Indorse team as a Senior Blockchain Developer. He is going to concentrate on scalability and state channels, Raiden network, etc in the near future.

Business Development

The business side has also been doing well. We went into a partnership with Appcoins ICO, and they have given a special code for Indorse IND token holders for their pre-sale. You can find more details here — https://blog.indorse.io/indorse-announces-partnership-with-appcoins-by-aptoide-d31f0d4f0825

Naqib and David have been signing up new people from several conferences, meetups and personal connections. Currently, we have more than 1400 people signed up for the Indorse platform!

Number of user accounts on Indorse

Current positions we are looking for: UI/UX designers.

Please feel free to drop us a mail at info@indorse.io should you be interested or know of anyone who should be a good fit for us.
